Burmese migrants cross over into Thailand illegally on the Moei river. Once in Thailand they are able to live and work within a small area for as soon as they head for Bangkok or other points there are military check points that will weed them out. If they wish to head to the capital, they must pay a smuggler and undergo a much more dangerous journey.
