Small scale fishing provides most food and incidental income.  Few economic opportunites for the native Papuans in their ancestreal land is a major factor many wish to see Indonesia leave and a West Papua gain independence.  Indonesian migrants control the majority of Papua's business and employ a majority of other migrants from other parts of Indonesia, leaving the Papuans out in the cold.
